What is PpiT and how does it work?
PpiT, by linking attainment, targets, expected levels and intervention and by actively involving teachers, really can contribute to raising standards. PpiT produces editable targets, checks them against expectations, helps plan intervention and draws provision maps. It enables very easy analysis of the impact of intervention.
It also produces a variety of ISP (DfES Intensifying Support Programme) style progress grids automatically which is an enormous time saver. Furthermore these grids are interactive, easily enabling the progress of different groups to be analysed. The use of colour makes results easy to interpret and the software attractive to use. Teachers like using it! There is built in help on every page and easy to follow tutorials and guidance can be downloaded from this site by registered users.
PpiT is a suite of three programmes. PpiT (Year) is the key programme and provides tracking and provision mapping for cohorts over a year. PpiT (Key Stage) is a companion programme that provides tracking over key stages. (It was written as a separate programme because Key Stage tracking is the part of the tracking process that still is best carried out centrally). PpiT (EYFS) enables schools to chart progress across the Early Years Foundation Stage.
