Superb pupil tracking software!
Developed for Bromley LEA primary schools in 2004 and now being used in schools around the country and abroad. It has been bought by a number of Local Authorities for use in its primary schools. Ppit is unique because it was designed from the outset to meet the need for primary schools to have pupil tracking software that complements the functions of RAISEonline, and:
- is a tool for teachers as well as senior managers
- links progress, targets, intervention and expected levels
- is quick to learn, easy to use and very effective
- is very cost effective and has no annual subscriptions.

Since we have implemented Ppit, our school wide tracking system has become a lot more user friendly, manageable, and easily accessible. We have recently had an Ofsted inspection and because of Ppit, we were able to quickly produce the information required, and show through the colour coding system, what level all children are at. As both a Class Teacher and Assessment leader I have found the PipiT software very accessible and equally as easy to introduce and implement with staff. The colour coded system means that we can monitor progress, both from term to term and year to year, with ease. The introduction of Ppit into our school has already had considerable benefits. The easy to use interface has enabled teachers to get a clear picture of progress. This has led to better target-setting and helped enormously with the identification of children in need of early intervention. Ppit software has provided the school with a wonderful user friendly tool with which we are able to set targets and track individual pupil progress effectively. Our school was one of the first schools in the LEA to trial PpiT and we very quickly realised what a useful tool this was going to be to track pupil progress and assess the effectiveness of the various intervention programmes we used to support pupil learning. The termly entry of teacher assessment information, and the simple colour coding of sublevels has helped all teachers and the senior management team to clearly see every pupil's individual progress. We now plan in termly meetings to discuss our 'PpiT pictures'.
